Future of Black Women and Girls

The Jig is up! There’s an unspoken truth that lingers in the room—a quiet elephant no one wants to address. Why is it so difficult to have an honest conversation about the role of white men in leadership and whether they’ve truly ever  earned their positions/roles as leaders? Instead of confronting the issue, society makes excuses, avoids reflection, and ignores the root causes of systemic failure. Why isn’t the world critically analyzing the faces behind so-called “leadership” and the dynamics that allow white men to dominate these roles? We seriously need a change in thinking and start addressing the core of many of the world's issues. Beginning with leadership.   Another issue worth addressing is the tendency of many Black men to prioritize white women and other white-adjacent women as their romantic preferences. If these women are their preferences, why aren’t they calling on them for aid, help, and support? What does this say about Black men? I’ll wait… It’s interesting that Black men are currently advocating for “unity” while simultaneously benefiting from the labor of Black women. This is a major issue that continues to loom in the so-called “Black community”—and I use quotes because it seems to me that the only group consistently doing the majority of the work has been Black women. Pay attention to those who may share our complexion but do not share our mindset. It’s a harsh truth that some Black women still find challenging to face. That's because it was never supposed to be them. Look no further than our current day, and you can’t escape the headlines about the performance of businesses throughout the United States. I remember doing a Google search not long ago regarding this and wondering why there aren’t more headlines about this major, MAJOR issue. For me, it all makes sense now—why we are where we are here in 2025. It’s always been this way, and it’s merely rearing its ugly head before the fall. I often wonder why white men claw to have these roles. No matter the industry, they are in abundance at the top of companies, yet we know they aren’t nearly as “in touch” as those in society or the diverse needs of others. White men can literally go their entire lives with no interaction with diverse groups and communities while making decisions that impact these same groups. They profit from all demographics without considering their individual needs. It’s something I can no longer unsee nor ignore. It’s EVERYWHE...

It’s time we write the rules. We blueprint our way to a more lucrative future that supports us. It’s time. From the very ground up. Rather than putting a plug in leaky plumbing—which we see as this current system—we must recognize that these laws “governing” the current system are not serving us. What’s stopping us from writing laws that support us and the changes we require? Changes that better support the collective? Hear me out. You may be thinking—what? How? We start by inking our own ideas and solutions. Society has made a big mistake by keeping Black women and girls in our current position.
